As an experiment in characterization in common films/books/games, think of your favorite one and describe at least one character using the instructions below.

Describe a character of a favorite series solely on its character traits without any reference to-

1) Their relationships with other characters.
2) Their role in the film/book
3) Their appearance
4) Basically anything beside the traits.

(extra points if you describe the character change from the beginning of the film/book and the end)
Include the name of each character and what they're from(for fact checking purposes.)

Example-

Han Solo(Star Wars 4,5,6)

A braggart, patronizing, thief with a heart of gold, action guy, bellicose, and suave.
This is more for curiosity's sake than anything else. I'd also hate to ask for it, but I need at least one Twilight fan to participate(it's for something else).

Clever idea for a thread.

* Typical "street teenager". Fast-talking, obnoxious, arrogant, loves baseball.
* Hot-blooded, loudmouthed, perpetually drunk Scotsman with affinity for explosives.
* An international man of mystery. Extremely stylish and even more unreliable. Once described as a "globetrotting rogue".

TF2 characters/classes. Scout, Demoman, Spy.

- Lighthearted, socially oblivious and always, always hungry. Enjoys the thrill of combat, but not so much that he won't get serious if the cards are down. (Son Goku of Dragon Ball)

- Highly intelligent, somewhat withdrawn, and incredibly unlucky. Doesn't lead an active lifestyle, but can go above and beyond when forced to act. (Gordon Freeman of Half-Life)

- Charismatic, immature, almost childlike. Driven by a crushing sense of guilt and duty that he masks with humor; has a bad habit of making more jokes relative to the amount of danger he's in. (Spider-Man of Marvel Comics)

- Powerful, altruistic, and alone. Devotes his life to the protection of beings he will never be able to completely relate to. The last of his kind, and thus completely alone in the universe. (Superman of DC Comics)

Manly
Saxton Hale! Duh! Who else?
Had to look him up. :S I don't know if he's the definition of manly; he wasn't the origin of the word "Gar."

But Archer was

@Pararaptor: Thanks. Not exactly but I was looking for, but it does help something else so its excusable. :p

[small] And don't worry, the information is only used in conversations with English major friends, it won't come back on a forum.[/small]

I saw a video on youtube where a guy did this with original trilogy star wars characters and new trilogy characters and it's hilarious

han solo vs qui-gon
vader vs darth maul
leia vs amadala
luke vs anakin

you could keep goin comparing characters with similar roles and the weaker ones are always found in the new trilogy.

It's RedLetterMedia. He's a user on Youtube that does reviews on movies mixed with a little dark humor. Part of the idea was from him.
