And Cecil WASN'T willing to give Golbez one of the four very keys to ruling the world to rescue his girlfriend? Sure it sounds romantic, but come on, did he really think the enemy would just let him walk away after gaining yet another piece of ultimate power? I don't see any plans to the effect of "how do we get her back and keep the crystal?" going on, just "You wanna trade? Okay!" I confess that's the part of the game I'm at so I haven't seen the conclusion, but Cecil gives every indication he's willing to make the trade knowing what the crystals do! I don't hate the game because of it, I'm just rolling my eyes at Cecil.Cridhe said:Did you even play 1-6? You know the series started before 7 right?Mallefunction said:Tidus from FFX
Or pretty much all FF heroes XD outside of maybe Zidane.
OT: it's really hard for me to really answer this question since I really can't find irredeemable characteristics in game characters in games I actually play. But I'd have to say... Silver the Hedgehog. Not only is he a blandly unemmbellished ripoff of DBZ's Trunks, he also had the buggiest gameplay and is the most forgettable of the Sonic cast. That's right, I think of Big the Cat as a more interesting character.
EDIT: I DO understand that in FF4 they were trying to go for the idea that Cecil would do anything to save Rosa, and also realize it was the offer of trade that revealed the tower's location, but no conspiring amongst the party members of trying to defeat Golbez and leave with the crystal? No indication of trying to achieve victory in any way? No struggling with his role as a paladin not to hand the world into his enemy's hands? I just feel that FF6 really shows better the humanity of characters and allowed them to show genuine heroism because of it. The point in the world of ruin where Terra leaves the orphans she promised to protect in order to take the fight to Kefka and end the danger is the shining example.
