Each one of us has at least once encoutered a situation when character we like doesn't get enough attention and love from other people. This thread is about them. Tell me about any character(s) from any movie, book, manganime and what not that you think deserve more praise and love.

For me it is Jonathan Joestar from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure:

He is The JoJo prime. The very first protagonist of this long-running series. He is the person who started his families fight with all that is evil.
Why I like him? Well, for starters, he is a nice guy. Just nice guy. Not foul-mouthed hothead protag with heart of gold, or this "too cool for world" emotionless protag with heart of gold, with which anime genre is filled to the brim. He is just a really good guy. He is polite, kind, good-hearted person, who is willing to do everything to protect his family, it's honor and (by the canons of anime) the world. He is a gentleman inside and out. And unlike other good-hearted protags of shonen/seinen, he isn't a goddamn retard. He is naive, yes, but he is not stupid. Unexperienced, maybe.

When a street thug assaults him he doesn't semi-murder him and follows it with quotes like "pfft, weak" or "my grandma fights better than you". He simply uses bare minimum of his force to push the guy away because "he may have a family that will miss him".

Out of all characters deaths in any manganime, his was for me most impactful. He died young, after just marrying his beloved Erina. Yet he still managed to protect his wife and tell her to save herself with the child they've found. He died smiling. I think I feel that way at the very least because of how nice he was.

Oh, I forgot to mention. Unlike other characters in this series, he is a pure brawler. Only once he used a sword. Every other enemy he defeated with his body alone. He is just that good. Sure, stands are interesting, but brawling is great too. He is like younger, more naive and aristocratic Kenshiro. Oh, Sunlight Yellow Overdrive is so hype!

Also, he has the greatest JoJo pose

Yet, he more often than not is forgotten. Most of the time everyone on the Internet speak about how oh so cool Joseph (your classic hot-headed foulmouthed protagonist with heart of gold) and Jotaro (male tsundere, jeezus) are. Oh, or how pwetty Giorno is. I am not saying That I don't like Joseph, Jotaro or any other protagonist in this series, but I still think that Jonathan Joestar deserves better.

God, I miss nice guys as protags.

P.S. Just some pics of him.

Cecil Harvey.

Don't know who that is? I guess I can't blame you. It's this guy.

The main protagonist from Final Fantasy 4, Cecil is often overlooked in favor of the later, flatter Final Fantasy heroes, like Cloud or Squall. If you ever get somebody to tell you about there favorite character from FF4 (If they ever even played it), they'll likely say Kain the Dragoon, because jumping is cool.

Cecil Harvey deserves better. While those who followed him frequently attempted to mime his character arc - a man with a past of sin, attempting to atone, none ever do it better. Cecil is the leader of a military that executes the will of a King who claims to be trying to make the world a better place. When Cecil begins to question these orders, he's fooled into destroying an entire peaceful village, almost dying in the process. Caring for a child he orphaned, haunted by his past, and chained to the black arts he spent his life learning, Cecil begins his quest of redemption, which takes him from country to country, to the sky and underground, to the mountains to murder his own dark past, and to the moon to learn the secrets of himself and his family. Cecil's the kind of man that feels bad for missing the trash can once and spends the rest of his life fighting for environmentalism, because it's the right thing to do, damn it.

So every time you see a 'greatest heroes' list, and Cloud makes his way onto it somehow, think of Cecil Harvey, a man that was too busy riding a Space Whale to the Moon to cry.

In the BlazBlue cast of really freaking awesome characters like Hazama and... Rag-no I can't finish that which a straight face, let me start that again.

In a cast completely overshadowed by Hazama's total God Tier entertaining and compelling role as the villain of the series, I think we should appreciate the glossed over sub villain that is Mu-12. Cursed by an artist who stopped giving a fuck before drawing her concept art and having to only appear at the end of every route for two seconds for the True Ending teasers I must give her the attention she deserves.

It does take several images to truly grasp her appearance wouldn't you say.

Despite seeming to be a Lambda-11 palette swap, Mu actually provides an interesting contrast to Lambda in gameplay, with Lambda using swords summoned from the air to keep her opponent constantly pressured by all of the tricky places she can throw swords from whereas Mu has a more static kind of zoning by summoning stationary gun turrets that fire one shot independently of her once summoned and can be manipulated by a few special moves including a super. Seriously a good Mu vs Lambda fight is a kind of bullet hell.

She has a refreshingly cold personality too, with the rest of the cast GOING TOTALLY HAM RAAAH INFERNO DIVIDAH with their lines, she speaks in a kind of quiet but authoritative voice, usually about destruction. Not taunting her opponent, not bragging about how she's gonna dek u m8 1v1 me swords only, just a cold statement of fact. For someone who hates everything including herself she's pretty chill about it.

Special mention goes to Shadow Labrys for Persona 4 Arena simply for having a win screen where she breaks down in maniacal laughter while her not-persona destroys the stage entirely, leaving your screen as TV static.

It took me several images before I grasped something.

Nilin out of Remember Me.

I appreciate that she successfully managed a 180 flip between scared and confused fighter to assassin-level ruthless badassery, and that she was apparently Welsh in Neo-Paris.

Yeah, I appreciate all that, but they did well to give her a sense of style, and the writing for her was, in places, really quite good. The surrealism of some of the events she undertook, alongside what was actually a fairly solid broken-family narrative (ideological world-takeover fluff aside, that is,) I think made her a really compelling character to follow the story of.

EDIT: Also Tenenbaum out of Bioshock. She was the embodiment of both Ryan's ignorance of historical value and the irony of how close he came to creating it.

Well as far as I know he is the only one with a decent up bringing. Yes his mother died when he was a baby, but he had his father there the entire time not to mention being rich. Joesph on the other hand never knew either of his parents and yes he did have Erina and speedwagon not knowing your parents is hard on a kid. Don't know much about Jotaro yet, haven't started stardust crusade. I will say Johnathon went out like a champ though, to bad Dio still got what he wanted.

O.T. Recently for me it would have to be Kurabara from YuYu Hakasho. Despite his dumb behavior he has proven to be an incredibly smart fighter in more than one occasion. Also, despite being the only one without any training of his powers he has proven to be an incredibly powerful ally. He also has ungodly stamina and has been willing to sacrifice himself on more than one occasion.

Why did you just leave my bitten uncle to die even though you're an unarmed 11-year-old girl, Clementine?
Why didn't you try to save the broken, catatonic Sarah while zombies surrounded you, Clementine?
Why did you axe off my girlfriend's arm in a vain effort to save her, Clementine?
Why were you not able to drag a full-grown adult man out of a freezing lake, Clementine?
YEAH CLEMENTINE, WHAT THE FUCK CLEMENTINE?

That guy.

I mean, even amongst people who do know the comic 'Gaston', tend to prefer Fantasio in the boss's role, because he is generally a better known character. (Due to starring also in Spirou et Fantasio)

Hmm.. the anime/manga series Bleach has a lot of characters that are bought on and are really interesting, but are underutilized... the two characters that really stand out to me are Tatsuki Arisawa and Hiyori Sarukgaki..

First let's talk about Tatsuki...

She's a really interesting character with a lot of ties to the main character Ichigo. She was Ichigo's first friend and for a while best friend as a child and even stuck with him after his personality change following his mother's death. Beat up people bulling him as child and always tried to cheer him up when he was down.
Then she starts being able to see spirits and Soul Reapers due to her spiritual energy growing thanks to exposure to Ichigo's overflowing Reishi. But then after Ichigo goes to the Soul Society she;s only seen once when she spots the afro haired Soul Reaper Zennosuke. Yes she also appears in the anime exclusive Bount arc which is fine, but she's only seen a few times with Orihime as they hang out and again when she's "kidnapped" by the mod soul Lirin. After that she's seen only when Yammy and Ulquiorra appears and nearly kills her, when Ichigo is fighting the Arrancar Grimmjow ansd when she confronts Ichigo, punching him through a window and getting emotional, demanding Ichigo tell her what she is to him and for not telling her about Orihime's disappearance... yes she's seen at other times in the remaining episodes of the anime but her appearances have been sporadic. Tatsuki should be used more since shes a great character and deserves to be used more. Maybe give her spiritual powers again like in the anime exclusive story when she gets from Urahara? that would be cool.. but given that the manga is probably ending soon, she unfortunately is another wasted character from the series.

Then there's Hiyori Sarugaki...another kick ass character

(the colored Hiyori image is a pic I drew.. not perfect and didn't come out great after i uploaded it to my pc from a camera phone , but it could be worse.)

Although not a main character and not introduced till the Arrancar arc when Ichigo's hollow starts trying to take over, she grew on me as really great character and one of my favorite of the Bleach series. Yes her character wasn't really needed till she and the other Vizards faced Aizen and his Arrancar army and has made a few appearances in the recent manga arc, doing a job for Urahara, but I really wish she'd have some more parts in the manga.. maybe have her travel to the Soul Kingdom and fight alongside her mother figure Captain Hikifune while showing more of her past and stuff..probably a pipe dream since the series seems to be winding down to a close but even so, I still like Hiyori and fell she should have been used way more.

by the way, can anyone tell me why my pictures keep dissapearing from the form after i post them? they appear their at first been i left the page and then return to this page and the pictures are gone
