For a lot of my male characters I go with the Latin word cor, meaning: heart; mind/soul/spirit; intellect/judgment, depending on the context literal; noun; or ??? (can't remember the third usage)
One day I Googled my initials, this came up and i've been using it ever since.

Otherwise I tend to go with Greek gods, but not the main ones so much (main ones being the twelve Olympians, Zeus, Hera, Hades, ect), more the obscure ones, the primordials, nymphs, muses, and my personal favorite the personified concepts.
The Greeks had some great mythological figures, crazy, jealous, emotional, and quite often dark and violent.

Usually;
Rainrix, (In honor of Linedwell Rainrix from Evil Zone, for anyone that remembers it..)
Sin, (As opposed to Sinspiration, which is too long)
Widowmaker, (Was inspired to use this when I encountered 'Widowmaker' in Colony Wars: Vengeance)
Chaos, (Because Chaos is awesome..? *shrug*)
Enira, (A little harder to explain)
Varena, (Female characters only, long story)
Chryll, (Same for this one)

When given a choice between male and female, I almost always choose female, and when allowed to name the character, I usually go with Jezebel.

Don't know why.

A name I use a lot for characters is Rurin Lumiour... if I need a female name sometimes I will just stick an "a" on the end of Rurin hehe. I use this for magic user type characters, but that is mostly what I play, so it is really the only name I repeat. On a side note, I have a ranger named Alantrin Rythuri.

Okay okay, you will -never- guess what name I use for all my male characters, really it's just that awesome. And no it's not oplinger.

[small].......Okay it's oplinger.[/small] Been using it for 11 years now.

If it's a girl, I name it Catrana. ...I'm -really- bad with names, so if there's more than one character to name, I sure hope there's a default name...else I'm just SOL.

I'm a fan of biblical imagery, as you might tell from this little number [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/362.228220-The-Ratings-War-V-Original-Sin-Round-2-Entries-Due-November-8].

QED, I have a tendency to name characters Gabriel, Michael, Raphael and other variants.

In the case of Mass Effect, my male character (Paragon) is William P. Shepard. My male Renegade is Hilter Shepard. I use the default name for my FemShep.

Unless they game has profanity filters, I can generally fit "McFuck" into every character field.

I've always used my real name: "Zach" or "Zachary." Until recently, this has been my only option. More recently however, I have began using "Brock." I'm not sure why, but "Brock Shepard" sounds incredibly awesome, and thus, I stuck with it.

At the moment my female mass effect name is "NAOMI" (Just randomly popped into my head).

One of my friends calls his male characters "ISAAC".
