Charity?

Hello fellow Escapists. What are your opinions on charity? Do any of you donate?
Personally, I dontate £2 a months to cancer research UK but I really don't agree with it. Not because I don't agree with charities, but I think that it should be government fundedand it is not, so I give them it. So, your thoughts?

I'd like to donate to certain charities that I think are worthy of my money...

However I'm incredibly bad with money and spend for too much so I never do donate.

I prefer to volunteer rather than donate money. For one, I have no money, and even if I did, I don't really know where that money goes. Besides, I think a lot of charities and organisations look at the symptoms rather than the cause of the problem.

I usually give a few notes to the Salvation Army if I run into them around Christmas (and if I have any cash on me) cuz they're one of the few charities I know of that actually do something around here (feeds the druggies and so on).

Other than that I don't give. I pay taxes so I don't have to.

I'll donate toys for when Toys for Tots time comes around and I can volunteer my time to other organizations, but I don't have the money to really help any charities. I donate blood, does that count too?

I pay plenty enough taxes (40%) for my government to pay my charities for me, and they do.

I don't donate money but i do donate plasma. I can't afford to be a philanthropist.

I always empty my change into charity cans when i run into them. Every Christmas i make a hundred dollar donation to the salvation army.

Outside of that I don't donate simply because i can't afford it. Though this year I am saving up to make a large donation to either the salvation army or Child's play. Either splitting what I save up in half or flipping a coin.
