"The rerouting of naked men has also made Chatroulette about $100,000 a month"
Sex sells... It has always sold and will forever continue to do so.
Nice cashflow for this smart guy! :)

My friends showed me this, when we were slightly drunk, because it was apparently 'a right laugh'. Anyway I got chatting to a real nice girl, but then my friend wrote 'you have nice boobs', so then I was forced to sift through 100 more dicks...not a good way to spend a saturday night I tell ya.

At first when i read this i thought that chat roulette was going to sell the images of the guys jacking off to porn websites.... oh god i got that wrong... i don't know why anyone would pay for that....

At the same time as I applaud this guy for this ingenious idea, I am saddened by the high percentage of wankers in this world.

I tried the site for about 10mins once when it was new, after getting 5 live action dongs in a row I left the site for good.

Honestly if you're shaving your willy at a web-cam you've earned the malware that comes from being sent to a porn site.

Waitaminute; are you trying to tell me Chatroulette ISN'T a porn site.

No registration required, no moderation (until now), no control over who you watch next....
I'm surprised that they're surprised this happened.

The internet is a nation and that nation has three major commodities:
1 - Porn
2 - Trolls
3 - Piracy

I think this is an elegant solution as long as the website that they are redirected towards has better 'parental control' than Chatroulette, because their system for identifying 'exhibitionists' is subject to as much abuse as the site itself is currently getting.

This is awesome! Brilliant solution, maybe I can finally go troll chatroulette.
But when I read the title I thought they sold the videos, I think they should have done that as well.

Chatroulette: Basically, three people in last 5 minutes didn't like what you've broadcasted and that's why you've lost this game. You've been blocked for 40 minutes.

Site Admin Kross: NO PANTS ALLOWED IN DER ARBEITSTEIN! I HAVE NO REGRETS!

There is a problem with this.

Today, at around one o' clock, I decided to use Chatroulette. For the first time. Ever. I can't really say why, other than a sort of morbid curiosity. Going to the site, I find that my IP has already been banned and I was redirected to said adult site against my will. I had never been to CR before today, and I never will again, if apparently I can be flagged for abuse without ever visiting their site.
Let me guess, shared router? Using the internet with someone else?

Considering how much sites like 4chan like to troll on these sorts of things,I could see this going horribly wrong.Namely,a child being flagged, and being re-directed.I wonder how long it will take for them to realise this, and set to work on destroying some kid's innocence.
Assuming some child is showing their penis to someone, then I doubt there's much innocence left to destroy.
I can't tell if you misunderstood what I meant on purpose or not.

I'm going to take a stab at what I think you meant, and say that the site works on the principle that you have no idea who the person you get is.

No id, no real way to identify the person you're talking to (unless they specifically give it to you, and even then you can't really go off and find the guy on this site) and I'm going to guess that it's going to take more than one flag before the guy gets redirected.

It does work that way, however,if someone like 4chan decided to mess with it-I'm sure some of them will,at some point-there is a chance that at least one child will be flagged three times by someone, just for kicks. It's probably a small chance, but I'd say it is significant enough.

The question that should be asked is what kind of pornsites?
Some questions should never be asked. (Sidenote: If you want to know that bad, go to chatroulette and get flagged enough times.)
