Cheap iPhones

Why are iPhones so much cheaper in asian countries?
My friend went to Japan and got one for $4(or whatever currency they use over there).
For me to get one it would cost around ?400.
That just seems unfair.
Now I really wanna go to Japan!
What do you think?

I don't care about the iPhone. I'm quite happy with a phone that is just a phone, really.

I agree! My phone is a simple one that texts and makes phone calls. If I need the internet, I will wait till I get to work or get home!
