I got enough money for either a cheap wal-mart pc, or a 360. I'm wondering if $400 dollar computers can play games on minimum, or if I should buy a 360. This has nothing to do with exclusives.

Link to the one I was looking at: http://www.walmart.com/Compaq-Desktop-Bundle-PC-CQ2103WM/ip/11049966

another one:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883108207
OH GOD NO!!!!!

NEVER BUY A COMPUTER AT WAL-MART!!! EVER!!

seriously. i'm not even exaggerating. or at best buy or staples or any brick & mortar store.

if you absolutely have to buy a pre-made PC just buy a dell XPS and be done w/ it.

ideally though, you should spend at least a week reading articles about how to build a PC. Then order parts from newegg and zipzoomfly and build it yourself. not only will it be more reliable & faster; but it will be cheaper.

short answer, get the 360

you will not be able to play anything newer than at best 4 years old games on the comp. its graphics card is probably horrible. get the 360 you won't have any issues getting the games to run
ps link would be nice
You act like that's a bad thing...
Half-Life 1 and it's expansions are probably some of the greatest shooters I've ever played. There are many games you could get that would be good on a PC like that. But, I'd say Xbox 360 if your expecting to play games like BioShock and such.
true it is not a bad thing but my assumption is that you are looking to play new games not old ones I mean I still play Star Craft hl 1 Age of empires 2 C&C Red alert 2 and other older games but I still like a new games too like COD 4, Crysis (HP Laptop FTW!), and other newer games.
Yeah, but if he has the chance to get a PC that he could upgrade over time, and he's isolated to playing only old games, he might start to like new things, instead of all the FPS games we see these days. Note, I like FPS games too, but they are just fucking stupid at times.
some mother boards are just so bad that it doesn't matter what other components you put in. the walmart ones are all ways poor quality and even if you could upgrade other components the mobo is likely to burn out with the higher quality components
[Not a computer whiz] isn't it possible to replace the motherboard?
yes but its not worth it because it takes alot of time and is just annoying to do.

atleast $1000 and get some thing with a atleast 1 gb of dedicated video ram, 4 gigs of ram, a processor with 2.5 or 2.6 ghz minimum.
4 gig 1333 ram
512 mb gddr ram (You do not need 1 gb of video ram, that's ridiculous.)
3.0 ghz processor dual core (Most games only use one or two cores)
545 dollars.

My 1000 dollar computer that I'm using now has
6 gigs 1600 ram
1 gig gddr ram
4 cores, 8 threads, OC'd to 3.0
You don't need to spend close to 1000 to get a good gaming computer if you build it yourself.
well i was assuming based on the buying a computer from walmart that he was not planning on building. ok second I prefer to have an exsisve ampunt of vid ram so that the comp stays good enough for a while.

Yah, I went the same way with my computer. I got the i7 and 1 gig vid ram so I'm pretty sure this computer will be good for a long time.
yes I went for portability and some gaming wich was a mistake should have just gotten a dedicated gaming desktop and a cheap school work laptop instead I went for a hybrid gaming laptop which is gret except its cooling issues.
