A couple of my friends and I started making movies, we'd like some feedback and I really don't know where to turn to start asking people to see it. So I guess im starting here.

Enjoy!

Well, just keep in mind its a few first attempts. Were new to the whole acting scene, and were going to work on it.. I mean what did you expect? Oscar winning material?

I really like the current amateur film scene, some really great stuff has come out of it. But sadly, this isn't part of that great stuff. It's a good start, but it just comes across as a couple of bored dudes playing with the special effects in Sony Vegas.

Some concept other than "lets screw around with fake guns and film it".
It's not like people havn't gotten rich off of worse though.

I am personally defending the "Brains Zombie Trailer" more than the fake drive by. The drive by was pretty bad, i'll admit to you, but one of the guys really wanted to do it, so we did it to make him happy.

On the other hand, the zombie one, was planned out by the editor and the camera man. They had a vision they wanted to do and we tried our best with our ametuer skills to play it out. I understand they are both not up to par, but I really came here seeking constructive critism.

Considering it appears that you joined just for the purpose of self-promotion and considering the fact that they seem poorly directed and acted I have to say: I'd get some actual training in film before before promoting yourself like this. It seemed like pretty standard highschool camcorder stuff.

Well its better then Uwe Boll's House of the Dead.
So is liver failure...

Well, the drive by one was bad. Just bad. No redeeming qualities on that one.

On the zombies one, just a thought: If you can't pull a scene off properly (lack of material, experience, etc) don't try to half-ass it... It just looks dumb (i.e: the "zombie" eating the other guy scene).

Overall, you're heading somewhere, but you're at the start of the road... Then again, nobody started with an Oscar nomination, so keep failing till you get it right.

...But for the love of everything you hold dear no more "drive-by" scenes...

I'm sorry but I can't say it is good or even say that you were creative. Zombies have been done countless times.

Thats the thing, were trying to self train ourselfs. As for promoting, it was for constructive critism, so that said self-training, would benefit. But hey, I really do not mind your negative comments, I'm making them into notes to help the team make better movies.

Well, I'm glad your not like most people who take criticism as a personal attack. I personally did not like the green filter you used in the zombie one and I thought that the first zombie that I saw was too L4D hunter-ish. Not a bad first attempt, though.
