I came across this wile surfing another site. I have to say, those mountains are really badass. They look like something you should only see in games and movies(avatar). The next time I travel, I gotta head there.

First they ban it then they immortalize it. There not very good with handling media I guess.

Shush! You're making the Chinese look foolish!
And only I may do that.

OT: Actually saw the mountain they had renamed and I have to say, it's pretty breath-taking.
I need to go and visit it somewhen.

and this is why those who killed htemselves over the earth not being like avatar....

are fucking retarded.

It's odd, but that mountain is millions of years old, its origional name maybe 100's, and it gets its name changed to the title of a film that is only a blip in time. Shameful

Am I the only one who thinks it's ridiculous that they renamed this old, majestic mountain after a flashy Hollywood film that will most likely be forgotten about in a few years?

It's much more likely that I they are just capitalizing on the success and tryin gto bring in tourism.

Oh those crazy government officials, what will they think of next?

Avatar is really getting on my nerves now, it isn't a great movie but it has so much publicity. It's all very confusing.

I didn't even think of it that way, but it is extremely ridiculous seeing as they also banned the movie. Unless it wasn't banned in that area? I'm not sure.

looks made up to me....

China Banned the film, and the article claims that it is doing very well in China, sounds like bullshit.

Maybe, but remember that this isn't The Sun, this is BBC. They aren't the type to make shit up.

What?
I mean, what?
I mean, WHAT?
China, what the hell?
I mean, you ban a movie, then you honor it by NAMING A MOUNTAIN AFTER IT.
That's logic!

They must have a lot of mountains. Or maybe its just because of Tibet.

Geez people. They're just over-compensating because of all the negative media attention. It's not that hard to figure out.
