Not in this situation. But they nearly killed other doujin sites and fansubs when they became a publisher, and bring a lot of bad blood in the community with their conversion.
People got used to being able to read, watch, and download hentai for free. Fakku at the time was one of the best websites for this, but at some point they decided to legitimize their website and business to avoid problems. By becoming a publisher and publisher, they got the licenses and rights of many japanese artists and hentai publications, and have been sending DMCA and C&D notifications to other hentai websites who had copyrighted material that now are under Fakku wing. Now people have to pay a monthly subscription to read and watch all that material, or buy individual titles that are out of the subscription, and a lot of them dislike that. Also, they proffited from the free work of some fansubs, publishing their translations but erasing all credit, and never give them any credit or compensantion for all that work. That's why some of the discomfort with Fakku exist.
Other part is because what happened with HentaiHaven. You can read about it here. TLR they lied to HH creator and ditch him.

Yeah but they’re uncensored and actually decent versions of the material in question. Also I’ve never heard of them literally stealing the translations from fansubs which seems unlikely given most of their stuff is translations of recently released magazines that usually take months to get translated by fans, while the anime they publish is literally just ancient licenses they bought that were released in English decades ago. Understandable. I just don’t like when people put pirate sites on a pedestal as they’re generally as scummy as any other company. At least with Fakku I get a bunch of quality shit and don’t have to sort through mountains of poorly translated Boat Girl NTR that I can’t spot because they use one of a hundred different translations for the title.
