I had a thought, what if the government were to make it mandatory that every newborn and current citizen were to be implanted with a special kind of microchip transmitter and vitals monitoring device that made it easier to get census information, track citizens, and relay medical information? Before you guys get paranoid, I think this would be a good idea because we already use social security as an identification tool not to mention all the ways the government can already track us.
The chip implant has many practical uses. For example, if a child is lost or kidnapped, they can be found because the chip would have a gps signal. Another example is the medical information that can be stored in the chip making it much easier and efficient for medical personnel like paramedics to assist people whom are incapacitated. The implant would also monitor vital bodily functions such as heart rate, blood sugar level, etc. Also, what if this chip included a PipBoy like device that receives signals from your implant so you can see your vital signs and includes PDA likes functions as well?

So, what do you guys think? Good, bad, or just plain crazy?

Then people start screaming "It's the mark of the devil!"

No, I'm not generalizing religions in one snide comment. My mom said her bible study group had a heated debate over it.
