I am in University this year, and I am in the market for a new laptop. Unfortunately, I know nothing about laptops, so I figured I'd enlist the help of you bright computer whizzes.

I want you to think like, if you were me which laptop would you buy.
Think about
- Quality (I am a very active gamer, with a whole lot of steam games that I'd like to be able to play on it. I want a REALLY GOOD quality laptop)
- Size (I don't want to be carrying around a tank to my lectures)
- Price (I have plenty of money from scholarships, but cheaper is always better)
- Battery life
- Warranty
And anything else you can think of

Thanks :)

Start your search here.
You can narrow it down by manufacturer, price, and specs, and the customer reviews are generally very good. It's where I got my current laptop (ASUS with 8GB DDR3 and an i5) for only $550, so you should be able to find a good price on a computer that suits your needs.

Edit: A bit of looking turned up this [http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1864414&Sku=T25-15671], which looks like a solid laptop for what you need. Also, avoid Acer products. They're not very good. Acceptable, maybe, but you can do far better for the price.

Randomly happened upon this forum. I felt I should say that laptop is unfit because it has a weak graphics card.

This looks pretty decent for the price. You should be able to play games on it, too.

If your planning on gaming I would build a desktop and buy a small laptop for work, would probably still be more cost effective too.
