So, Christmas is in a few days. Any one else excited? I'm a huge fan of Christmas and am eagerly awaiting the mass gift giving? Any of you guys have any holiday traditions?

Honestly, haven't even noticed how close it was until this morning. I hate this time of year, not really looking forward to it.

Not really, I don't mind Christmas, but I don't really care for it. I like being with family, but they're all around the world, so it's just a few of us. And I dislike getting gifts. One good thing, however, is I can help do some community service at the local Base Exchange for the squadron gift wrapping event. I always did like helping out on Base with that.

... And I do like the food at Christmas. :)

If I may ask, why is this?

My family tends to celebrate on New Years rather than Christmas.

But that dosen't mean we wont enjoy ourselves during the holiday. We probably have a nice breakfast and spend time together.

I honestly love Christmas so much that I can't understand and feel sorry for people who don't. It's like, if you don't look forward to Christmas then what do you look forward to?! My whole house is covered in decorations, we have mountains of food piled up, my mum is baking cakes and pastries, we're wrapping presents and we're basically snowed in. It's just magical. I'm 20 years old and I've never lost my massive Christmas spirit

Christmas day is great. The build up, floods of advertisements and over excited people, not so much.

My mother has turned this holiday into pure consumerism in my household. She constantly yells at me asking what I want or what my cousins want (I honestly never know). And when I finally think of what I want, usually only 2 or 3 things, I never receive them. There is just so much stress put on me all the time around now, how I don't currently have a job so I can't buy things for people, and on and on and on and on.

Not to mention drivers. "What's this white stuff falling from the sky? Better go 30mph under the speed limit."

Theres so much. I just hate it.

1. Break from school 2. Gifts. 3. Free food. Fuck if I ever stop being religious I am still celebrating this.

This is my tradition...
I would probably snark at this if I could think straight, but in my addled state I am going to have to admit that I cracked a smile.
You have the best tradition.

Hmm, a time of year geared entirely toward making people feel bad and guilting them into giving you things? I sense awesomeness in the force. In all seriousness though, I really love Christmas, and not just for all the presents. There's the awesome food, decorating the tree, decorating the house, and visiting family... though I could go without that last one.
