Wish Square would release this and some Final Fantasy ports on xbla. Frankly I don't see why companies aren't porting the best of their back catalogues, it's comparatively cheap and for gamers in their 20's the 16 and 32 bit eras (the height of 2D gaming) were what they grew up with giving games from that era nostalgia appeal.

Nintendo at least have dumped roms of basically everything onto the VC, SEGA probably has done the best job of putting out their 16bit stuff and are beginning to make more of an effort with their Dreamcast content (nothing from the Saturn though).

Actually, I just remembered, I have the PSX version too. I might pick this up and then play all three versions to experience the differences.
The main core game is exactly the same in the 3 versions with exactly the same graphics, same sound and same music, except that the PS1 version had better localisation, anime cutscenes, a kinda different ending so that it could tie with Chrono Cross, a new dungeon and longer loading times. Same with the DS version, but with better interface (wich is 100% customisable), virtually inexistant loading times, even better localisation than the PS1 version, another new dungeon (wich is kind of meh) and a strange new mode that's reminicent of Pokémon.

So yeah, I've played all 3 versions, if you can count the SNES one to be played with an emulator.
Now I can finally have a legit (virtual) copy of the SNES one. Even better if it's not as expensive as getting the SNES version.

Is it true Captcha?, Offecien exists?.

Well its interesting, might buy that; I'd like to see a real sequel to Chrono Trigger but at this point, I don't think that its possible for it to live up to the quality of the first one.

No, hell with that. I've bought that game too many times before. I want another sequel.

Sadly, this latest incarnation of Chrono Trigger appears to be a simple port of the original SNES release.
There's a lot to be said for preserving games as they were originally created, with the deadlines, budget, and technology the developers had to work with at the time. Videogame preservation is generally pretty spotty, so I'm glad to see a straight port for a game like Chrono Trigger. It's not like it is lacking in its original form, anyway.
No no, there were two original versions: the one for the SNES, and and the one for the Playstation. Because the PS1 had more room on the discs, they added animated cutscenes.

...Admittedly, not a huge difference.

Hm. The PS1 version was released in 1999, four years after the SNES version. That seems more like an early port than an original, though in this case we haven't really defined what actually constitutes an original, so there you go.
