Should we really advertise games as cinematic? To me personally when something is cinematic when we really think about it is good camera work. Don't get me wrong, good camera control and use in a game is important, but i see it more on the lines of advertising a toaster as "shiny". More of a small bonus really. What do you guys think?

Its kind of like how a movie is Cinematic. A toaster DOESNT need to be shiny to work. A game needs to be cinematic IE good camera work if it is to work out great. Yeah some games have come out and gotten good reviews with shitty camera work but most games now have good camera work so its not that big of a problem.

I'm talking more on the lines of advertising and praising a game as cinematic/good camera. Its more on the lines of you expect to have a good camera and you don't really need to tell me it has a really good camera as your sales pitch

Cinematic in games means it's more of a spectacle, not good gameplay or camera work.

Cinematic: of or pertaining to or characteristic of the cinema.

No we shouldn't use it in game advertising, but we like explosions and other particle effects.
