Cities XL advice?

i just saw it on steam 75% off, and i thought i have never had a city builder, why not give it a go

it got 70 on metacritic which isnt that bad considering it only cost me like £7

so im wondering, are there any City building experts on the escapist, can you offer me some advice before i start playing?

I just saw the same deal and picked it up, it's installing while I'm at work.

Hope it's not too bad but for $10 it wont be a total waste. How you liking it?
