Can you save multiplay games then load them again later?

there doesnt seem to be a save option avaliable. a bit silly for a game that could easily last hours and hours if you want.

It auto-saves.

Often way more then you want it to.

Or less.

Edit: And these auto-saves are loadable in Multiplayer.

ok thats cool. my brother and i were playing for over an hour and i was like i want to stop now so i can watch the melbourne comedy festival and we open the menu and there is no save option.

Are you guys kidding me? You can't manually save a game in Civ 5? That alone would make me not buy it. I remember saving all the time before starting a huge military campaign in earlier versions. You can call me a coward for that, but I did it.

Thats in multiplayer only you cant manually save. It autosaves so that everyone has the save take place at the same time.

yeah well i bought it before i even knew much about the game. i have had civ 4 sitting next to me since christmas 2009 i think and only recently played it a bit then bought 5. so far so good except for the manual save thing but that ok if it auto saves.

is there any way to know when it autosaves? is it like every 5 mins or ever 5 turns or every turn or something?

cause i would hate do do something major like conquor someone then quit hoping it gets saved and finding it was saved 20 turns ago.
