First off, thanks to Shodan1980 for gifting me the game via Steam. Frankly I'm surprised it runs on my laptop, but it does well enough to be playable. The only major issue I have is where the textures of things like fishing boats, horses, cows etc. seem to be stretched off to the bottom right. Obviously this gets in the way a bit. Now, I'm running it on the lowest settings already, but is there anything I can do (short of a new graphics card) to fix this?

It would be helpful if you posted your laptop's specs as well as a screenshot.
If it has integrated intel graphics, chances are you cannot do anything about it. Most games are not really designed to run on on-board laptop graphics cards hence the graphical bugs. I remember running the Godfather game on my dad's laptop and nearly all the characters' suits were white which kind of ruined the atmosphere..

Here's the mess:
And here [http://www.sony.co.uk/product/vaio-e-series/vpceb4l1e] is the specs.

Now, I have fixed it (kinda). I was running it on the DirectX 10 & 11 version (as it recommended), I tried the DirectX 9 option and the problem resolved itself. However, the DirectX 9 version runs significantly slower, which is a bit of a bugger. Did a bit of sleuthing, discovered I have DirectX 11 installed, so I'm not really sure there's much I can do.
