I'm going to take another crack at civilization, but I suck at it. I always build all the buildings for my cities neglecting my army and end up having eight-fourteen cities, pitiful, and this is all on easy difficulties. What I really need is some military tips like how to keep my economy up, best civilizations for different game play styles, best units for what jobs in what ages. I really need the help, so please help me. I'll be your friend. Well not really, but you can pretend you have a friend.

Ish...I always sucked at Civ3....Get Civ 4 I found it much easier to play and understand.

But if you can't well...

I can only give Total War tips..maybe they will work with Civ3.
Build many armies till your economy tanks..then take a shitload of places!! Then sack/exterminate the towns and get rich! oh wait...Guess it only helps in a Total War game...

So could I just start stocking up on ICBMs and nuke all the cities? Then my army's can kill off the survivors. It will be just like fallout! (Someone really really needs to make a scenario for that. You get fifty ticks until an enemy country nukes everyone, but your capital is still alive. You only have some infantry units and you need to get around and get as many strong cities as you can before the inevitable radiation surge dissolves everyone. Sounds fun?)

my strategy is to build settlers in every city until it takes them really long to get to any possible city location. then you make a few workers at each city (on auto control (I forgot what it's called) but don't attack anyone until you have 30+ cities then set them all on production/culture/wonders. once you decide to go to war build up an army from every city then attack one enemy civ at a time. repeat as necessary.
