I am tired of discussing depressing stuff. So... Lets make a fun thread! Hurrah!

I am a massive fan of classic rock and metal. I was wondering, what are some of your favorites? Bands, songs, sub-genres, whatever. Let us share and enjoy each others music tastes while congratulating ourselves on how awesome we are!

Let us get this thread started on the right foot with some Black Sabbath!

I do like Black Sabbath (Looking forward to seeing them this June ), they have to be the one of the best classic metal bands I listen to. Then again I don't listen to alot of classic metal and rock bands. Thinking about the oldest band I listen to alot would be Rammstein, their my all time fav metal band

My classic rock favs, really anything Def Leppard, Night Rider, and Black Sabbath. And I listen to basically every sub-genre of metal there is. REALLY, think of ALL of them. Even the sub-genre that apparently pisses EVERYBODY off on YouTube, MetalCore. I don't know what the big deal is, really. The stuff's not bad. A couple metal bands to check out: Amon Amarth, iwrestledabearonce, Between the Buried and Me, Mastodon, Testament, GWAR...

I too love the stones. About as classic as you can get.

I love gimme shelter too, and I would add paint it black.

Formed in 1976, and still around today (although they have had more band members than albums!)

First album: 1971, and still around today!

You know they're good when they've been going for almost half a century.

I love both Scoprions and Boston. Awesome bands.
"No one like you" is a personal favorite of mine.

And, of course, who can forget "More than a feeling"?

I'm going to recommend Hawkwind. Hit up the usual places for their stuff. Very, very good.

SRV is one of the best blues musicians ever, his instrumental tracks are so beautiful.


The Eagles IMO are one of the best bands of all time.

Its sad that Judas Priest are overlooked a bit nowadays, they don't seem to have the same standing as Iron Maiden and Black Sabbath, despite being one of the only other 70's metal bands still kicking (for now).
