The Doors are severely overrated. The Who is aweseome though. Especially "Tommy".
Don't say The Doors are severely overrated, that is just your opinion!

While people were listening to pop music in my High School class, I was rocking out to Frank Zappa.

Ah you added so much and still left so much out. :p

Also amazed that you 15 and can name Booker T & the MG's, Stevie Ray Vaughan(which I guess is what you mean by SRV.), Van Morrison and Janis Joplin.
Ahh blame my dad. I know many of them oldies, like Kingsmen, Grass Roots, Canned Heat, The Byrds and The Zombies. Yes I DID mean Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble by SRV, and well, I listen to a very huge variety of music, even some stretching to Beethoven and The Inkspots.

OH I also forgot Deep Purple, Alice Cooper, The Animals and CCR! Ahhh the list is far to big to count!

Every band mentioned here I like, you people have an excellent taste in music. I guess I'm lucky, where I live its split fairly evenly between rock and rap fans so no music fan is ever alone in their tastes.

Dude, I love Journey and Floyd. No es bueno, Kemo Sabe.

Anywho. Gotta love your Sabbath, Aerosmith, Twisted Sister, THE SCORPIONS, Journey, Supertramp, The Yardbirds, B.B. King... uh... let's see. Oh, if you can find some of their stuff, The Elegants were pretty awesome. They're from Seattle.

I can't believe it. Thirty-one posts and no BOSTON, the BEST BAND EVER.
(And for the dude who said the other dude didn't like Pink Floyd but like Journey - I don't like Pink Floyd.)

Wow, before I graduated, school was the contrary. If you liked rap or hardcore, you would get laughed at. Classic Rock was something respected.

The Who are definitely awesome.

The Kids Are Alright is one of my favorite movies - the performance of "Won't Get Fooled Again" at the end is the definition of epic.

Floyd's Wish You Were Here is also one of my favorite albums, and King Crimson's great (purely for "Twenty-First Century Schizoid Man").

ACDC, Queen, Led Zepp and the Eagles rule. Anyone who says otherwise is clearly insane (although I'll forgive not liking Led Zepp, as I'm pretty picky myself over which of their songs I like.)

But anything by ACDC or Queen is solid gold.

Don't let anyone talk shit to you for liking kickass music. I own a record player because of my firm belief that old music is superior to the shit being pumped out of the labels today. I have records by the Who, AC/DC, Meat Loaf, Ozzy Osbourne, Queen, Molly Hatchet, and many many more.

The Doors fucking rule! And hell the thing I wanted most to see in Paris was Jim Morrison's tomb...yeah I go to one of the worlds most cultural cities, with the Eiffel Tower, the Versailles, Louvre and other fantastic monuments, but the thing I wanted to see and spent an entire day looking for it was JIM MORRISON'S TOMB!

On topic: Led Zeppelin, The Who, The Doors, Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Black Sabbath..arg thr list is to big...:p

Edit:pardon the shitty grammar...
Funnily enough, they are some of last century's best.

And this century? Well, what needs to be said? Sometimes there's something good, but rarely.

EDIT: You forgot Queen! How could you forget Queen?

Haha, I am 15 and pretty much in the same boat. Love some of that good music, but I got friends who like it too!

Basically oliveira8's list.
Led Zeppelin, The Who, The Doors, Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Black Sabbath

As well as Steppenwolf, The Guess Who, The Kinks, Eric Clapton (Cream), Santana, Van Morrison, SRV, Booker T & The MGs, SuperTramp, Ray Charles, Queen, Police, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, George Thorogood, ETC.

Sorry for such a long list, I thought I should complete a bit of it.

Honestly though, I am sick and tired of all the "gangstas" at school who listen to nothing but rap and a terrible twist on R&B. It seems most of them hate everything that isn't "gangster" and will openly tear stuff like classic rock down.
im in your boat too man its either rap or annoying-as-all-fuck techno
the list probably covers my entire childhood experience of music
