For those of you who own the soundtracks to games like Chrono Trigger or Final Fantasy and others, and savvy enough to know the titles of those songs. I'm wanting to know which songs that you guys are aware of that are the most catchy from those games. Any suggestions are welcome, especially from games I didn't mention or don't know about. Thanks.

Well, what do you need them for? That's the question that really needs to be answered. If no reason, then I guess here are the ones that I find catchy:

Chrono Trigger:
"Yearnings of the Wind" aka 600 AD.
"Robo's Theme" aka Rick Roll [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cmY2wf7T428]
...I know there's more, but it's been a while.

Final Fantasy IV:
"Dancing Calcobrena"
"Theme of Love"
"Rydia's Theme"
"Lunar Whale Theme"
The standard battle and boss battle themes
"Golbez's Theme"
"Mystic Mysidia"
"Palom & Porom"
"Red Wings Theme"

Final Fantasy III:
The standard battle theme
...Yeah, I hated this game. So much that I don't really remember the music to it.

EarthBound:
"Pollyanna"
"Eight Melodies"
"Humoresque of a Little Dog"
"Snowman"
"New Age Retro Hippie" aka Probably one of the most fun pieces of music ever [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mo8rU7VjJ9Y]
"Smiles and Tears"
And practically every other song in every Mother game. Ever.

I want to add these songs to my portable mp3 player for multiple listenings. Thats what I'm after.

What about Illusion of Gaia's soundtrack, it sure had some nice tunes, and Diablo's village music brought back a lot of memories!!

Ah, okay. My recommendations don't really differ, so have fun finding the ones you like out of those.

You should try giving Supradarky's best VGM list [http://www.youtube.com/user/supradarky?blend=1&ob=4] a listen. It's not exclusive to RPGs (or old games) but it does have a lot of awesome songs you probably wouldn't hear otherwise.

Honestly, would you have expected an unused track to an SNES flintstone's game [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nBWjVglSVGk] to be awesome? Or this masterpiece [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CBm1yaZOrB0] to be from a racing game? And, to the answer the OP's request: yes, the list has its fair share of classic songs from classic games [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bNzYIEY-CcM] along with their names.

(No, the list is not in a ranked order. It's simply the order that he added the songs in)
