Ive been teaching and performing drama at an amateur and a professional level for the past 6 years...was wondering, what does the world think is better, classical such as old Mr. Shakespears works or contemporary pieces like Boale or Ravenhill.
Feel free to go with performance or just reading the works, pick your own favourite palywrites and just have fun. Like personally I'm not a huge Shakespear fan, I think he was definatly over rated, but hes more fun to perform than to read, but only just. Wilde would be my favourite simply for the line "I am not myslef in favour of premature experiences", amongst other geneous lines. Hes just as fun to read as he is to perform.
Contemporary can suck my b**s btw.

Personally I prefer Shakespeare, but thats mainly because I love Hamlet.

Haven't seen anything contemporary that's made me connect as much with the drama as much as that. All the contemporary theatre I've seen has felt quite disjointed.
