Name: Cain Erelen
Background / text dump: Cain was raised in the luxury and security of Coruscant - the political hub of the galaxy and what has been the location of the Jedi Temple for four decades now.
Recognised as a potential force-sensitive, Cain left behind his childhood and, due to a chance encounter with Zez-Kai Ell - Jedi Master and member of the High Council - he was initiated down a path that would eventually lead to him becoming a Jedi.
Cain did not feel as if he particularly excelled in either lightsaber combat or mastery of the force as a Youngling. However, his quick mind and sharp senses were often remarked upon; allowing him to quickly grasp and learn lightsaber forms and theory as well as theology of the force far faster than many other Younglings, Cain's mind allowed him to overtake students who had the innate talent but not the patience nor the intelligence to keep up.
Zez-Kai Ell would later tell him, at the age of 13, that Cain's humility clouded his recollection of these events - Cain was certainly far above average in his understanding of the force (and therefore in the use of it) and was then told he would be trained by the man who Cain already saw as a father-figure ; Zez-Kai Ell was to take Cain as his apprentice.
Cain, despite his fascinating ability to learn at brilliant speeds, still greatly lacked in talent when it came to lightsaber combat. This, however, was negated and then improved upon when Zez-Kai Ell forewent formality and conventional training and skipped 5 of the 7 forms - teaching him only the Ataru and, rather impressively, the Juyo form, Cain was able to easily overcome many other apprentices in duels by using the force itself to heavily guide and improve his abilities in combat; implementing the force-aided acrobatic movements of Ataru and the seemingly omniscient awareness and control that came with Juyo, Cain was able to use the force to great lengths, with seemingly endless reserve.
It was assessed by his master that Cain could greatly augment his own performance with the force in every way, and Zez-Kai Ell was not against the notion that this included his seemingly boundless capacity for knowledge. From Apprentice to Padawan Cain continued to compensate for his shortcomings in any area with the force, leaving him incredibly capable, but, as many would tell him, ultimately vulnerable should his connection ever be exhausted or even severed. There were places in the galaxy and techniques used by many enemies that would drain him of this connection, and he was often told that should he encounter this, it would most likely be the last battle he ever fought.
Failing to heed this advice, Cain continued to favour his knowledge of the force, continuing to strengthen his talents instead of fortifying his weaknesses.
At the age of 20 Cain's knighthood was within sight, but Cain felt that this was not enough - Cain felt that his studies were now in the battlefield, in the missions he had been sent on alone and with his master, and this feeling grew with each assignment; whenever he left the Temple he truly felt the force all around him, especially in battle where he used it most. His master noticed this, and warned him on occassion, but as Zez-Kai Ell never saw a hint of the dark-side in this force-enabled combat high, he once again let his Padawan be as he was.
A horrible mistake for the Jedi Master, as Cain was amongst the first to join and campaign with the Revanchist; at the start of the Mandalorian War Cain strongly felt that the Jedi should intervene in this slaughter, but even his usually contemplative and empathy-filled Master felt that action was too hasty a course of action. So, when Revan began his campaign, Cain was amongst the first to openly support the Revanchist movement.
Now 24 years of age, Cain leaves the Jedi Temple on an assignment given to him by Revan - he is to aid Corel Saal. Knowing this would be against his Master's wishes, he decides that simply dissapearing is the best course of action - leaving no sign of his departure Cain joins the Republic Fleet in it's battle against the Revanchist movement; Cain's loyalties lie with Revan now, and that means his loyalty is to the Republic.
Equipment: Lightsaber - single hilt, green crystal.
Jedi Robes.
Personality: Life has always been very easy for Cain, even under the supposedly grueling training in the Jedi Temple; this has left him overconfident, carefree and most importanly naive - Cain's initial humility is now absent, leaving him as a man who does not boast but inwardly recognises a certain superiority; one that was placed in his mind by his Jedi Master.
In combat this leaves Cain rather careless, in some ways aiding the stacatto blows of his lightsaber styles, in others leaving him open to blaster bolts or other dangers.
Powers;All of Cain's current powers are based off augmenting his own abilities with force telekensis;
-Master Speed
-Force Jump (for acrobatic moves in combat etc.)
-Knight Armour (shields against physical attacks, blaster bolts)
-Master Valour (increases offensive attributes)
-Force Immunity (greatly increases resistance to enemy force powers)
