I didn't play Galaxy 1, and I am not getting Galaxy 2.
They should make more Mario games with him jumping into paintings Ala Super Mario 64, that was a cooler concept
So you wouldn't play a game because the 4 second method of travel to the next world/level is different. That is being picky to the max.
Super Mario 64: Jump in a painting, 4 seconds after a level title is show, you are in the other dimension world.
Super Mario Galaxy: You get shot through space, 4 seconds of flying and the level title it shown, you are on another planet which is the world your level is on.
You must be the type of gamer that the game developers fear, the type that won't play a game because there is a slight unimportant difference in a game.
I actually liked Super Mario Galaxy better than Super Mario 64. Galaxy took platforming to a whole new level. I think it is pretty amazing that I don't have to play on a relatively flat uninteresting level, and instead I get to have a world that as multiple sections and I can start out walking in a straight line at point A and then arrive at point A again with out turning back. Yeah, they didn't do that with every level, but it made the game more fun when the levels were changed up for different types every few and sometimes every level.
Super Mario 64 was great for its time, but in the gaming world today, that style of level making is out of date. If a developer made levels like that today, I would call them unoriginal or lazy for not trying to make some new and exciting.
