co-op what game can't it improve

this is a question to point out that every game you can think of could be improved with a well added co-op mode especially if it's online so I challenge you to think of a came which would be less fun playing with your friends (it doesn't count if your friends are dicks). also what game would you like to see with co-op I would say bethesda and bioware games.

I'd say probably any survival horror, but I'm going to use Amnesia as an example.

Now, I've only played the demo but from what I can gather of the game being based on immersion, being teabagged by a friend whenever I die would certainly not help.
I need new friends...

Freelance already said it, but survival horror isn't as great story-wise with buddies. Also, Fallout is one of those games that everyone always says, "It should have Co-op."

well I did say doesn't count if your friends are dicks but to you think running for your live would be any less fun if you and your friend were making jokes. imagine you guys just finished a puzzle and you both just start going on about how nothing will attack you are you honestly saying that wouldn't be fun.

However, I would like to see Red Faction: Guerrilla and any Call of Duty besides World at War to have co-op.

Aaaaand, breathe. Any game dependent on conversation, steering your character's personality one way or another would be difficult to pull off with someone else horning in. So yeah, Bethesda or Bioware games.

Also, GTA games. Though I may be slanted on that, because I wouldn't be able to resist just titting about rather than playing the campaign or missions.

Those aside, I think a well-implemented co-op would be a massive bonus.

Actually, no, that's not what I'm saying at all. I'm saying that Resident Evil 5 sucked with or without co-op.

The entire co-op experience rides on whom you are playing with. Are they good/bad/douche/nice? Well, those personality traits will determine how much you enjoy co-op.

Whup, sorry. Reading OP fail.
I still don't know about co-op though. It might work, but I don't know how heavily it being you and only you against these unknown threats impacts the game.
This may just be me, but there's also the problem whenever me and my pals play co-op, we go into giggling fits over every little thing. Had to stop playing Reach for a minute due to my weird sense of humour having me doubled over by an Elite suggestively draped over a Grunt.

while adding co-op to a bioware game would be very difficult if handled right it would be pure awesome but it's not something I am holding my breath over though I can talk for a long time before having to take a breath. this topic is a hypothetical thing so a bioware game would still be improved.

Having played new super mario bros wii, I'm going to say Super Mario Bros is CERTAINLY not improved with multiplayer.

Also, I'd note this isn't to do with friends being dicks, it's due to inevitable collisions with one another which will almost certainly kill one or both of you if you are on any level after the first world.

Actually, survival horror can be done very well with co-op. Just make a combination of Silent Hill and Saw. Two general dudes or gals could get captured (like they always do) or get separated in a scary complex. One person unlocks doors for the other and vice versa. But at the same time survive encounters with demons or whatnot who could herd you into rooms set with traps. Think something like each player starting in different ends of the Resident Evil 1 mansion. I mean Resident Evil Outbreak was good in atmosphere but bad in controls. Resident Evil Zero is a good example of a proper C0-op horror, not the best but damn close.

I actually have played super mario bros wii and found multiplayer to be very enjoyable and using the collision thing to our advantage like using me as a projectile to damage the boss or using each other to reach higher/safer locations I just think when it's several people playing single player together it sucks but when you actually co-operate it works great.

So can I, but I read compulsively, so with no natural breaks my eyes start to boggle.

Hypothetically, yes; in practice though not necessarily. 'Improved' is a relative term, it may have better combat, but what if the story was ruined by someone else's choices? The idea of a game is more than the sum of its parts. It needs every part working the right way to transcend monotony. ME1 was amazing, despite tech limitations because I felt like my actions mattered. I felt the crush of choices, so much so I took about 30 minutes at the Rachni Queen part. In ME2, no choices seem to have mattered. That ruined the characterisation for me.

If ME1 had co-op, unless they were strictly an observer (which I think would be fun, if not immersive, for them) then the choices wouldn't have been mine, thus taking away that excitement and tension for me. Combat also, in further thought, would have to be completely changed (considering the paused combat wheel system).

that's why I said well implemented I have no idea of how they would make the co-op work with the dialogue well one or two ideas but I still think it could be done right also I don't think the people in your post would play mass effect in the first place.
