Hey since I've finished my exams for the summer *yay* I was wondering if anyone knows of any good co op wii games that i could get to keep me amused over the summer. I dont mind what genre, or how old/new the game is just that its fun to play.

Rayman Origins is a good game with 4-player co-op play. I can't say much for the quality of the co-op per say as I've only played it alone, but the game itself is very fun with a beautiful visual style, addictive platforming, and catchy music. I will say though that difficulty sneaks up on you so there are chances that you will die... Alot. It can get a little frustrating at times yet I usually still found myself playing through the hard ones until I got them done(the game also will offer to let you skip if you die a certain amount of times if you end up just wanting to get to the next level).

Kirby's Epic Yarn is another good one, this one only has 2 player co-op. It's difficulty curve is a whole lot milder by comparison. It's still pretty fun though with another really nice and unique art style.

Kirby's Return to Dreamland is another, I can't say much for the game quality since I haven't had a chance to play it quite yet. But it does offer up to four player co-op and I believe you have your choice of characters in that one. Even if someone already picked the same character(I know you can at least have two Kirbys).

Edit: Oh yeah and if you don't happen to have friends around when you feel the urge to play all these also can be played alone.

Rayman Origins is not that great a game. I can tell you that now.

House of the Dead: Overkill is fantastic, and in the same vein MadWorld is actually co-op. Delicious, over-the-top ultraviolence. No time for the old in-out, love! I've just come to read the meter.

Madworld has co-op?

OT:New Super Mario Bros Wii
Donkey Kong Country Returns
Kirby's Epic Yarn
House of the Dead:Overkill
House of the Dead 2&3 Return
Ghost Squad
Resident Evil:Umbrella Chronicles and Darkside Chronicles

Best thing is apart from the first party Nintendo titles most of these should cost next to nothing now

I seem to remember it having split-screen unless I'm crazy. That very well could be. It'd be local if anything too. I'll have to dig out my copy and try it.

Donkey Kong Country Returns, I can't stress that enough. That game is simultaneously new, nostalgic, and 100 kilos of awesomeness. Easily best multiplayer game on the Wii.

Also look into Kirby's Return to Dreamland. That game is fantastic, but got barely any attention which is sad cause the game is great.

If you want some 4 player chaos go for Rayman Origins or New Super Mario Bros Wii. Both are fun games if you want some mindless fun and to try and dick each other over(really hard to play with seriousness though cause of having 4 players platforming at once), and it's always fun to jump off of Mario's head and send him careening into a pit so you can steal a 1-Up mushroom he was gonna get.

Pokemon Rumble is available on Wiiware, it's pretty boring on its own, but you can have some fun with friends.

Also there's the Raving Rabbids Party Edition. My friend and I were playing the other day, fun little mini-games.

Cartoon Network Punch Time Explosion XL if you want to experience the baby of Super Smash Brothers having a love child with childhood nostalgia.

I'm not seeing a lot of quality third party recommendations here.
You know damn well a majority of the Wii's third party titles are absolute tripe.

OT: Other than the aforementioned SSBB, Kirby's Epic Yarn has some really fun coop that runs the entire length of the game.
