In a gloating move from Activision today, they have released information that Call of Duty: Black Ops has made 1 billion dollars since its release in November.
Since launch though, Black Ops has clocked more than 600 million hours, according to Microsoft statistics, which is pretty impressive in itself.
Does this news shock you, or did you kind of expect this result to occur? Is the sales-record well deserved or do you think other titles have deserved to reach this mile-stone?
The worst part is... I can just imagine that smug face on Kotick as he utters those words.
[sub]I'm aware that this is already in the news section, but I just thought I'd add it here, and perhaps we could gain some discussion value out of the whole ordeal!

Avatar reached the 1 billion dollar mark after just 19 days of running, which is pretty amazing, considering the price of a movie ticket vs that of a console/pc game."In all of entertainment, only Call of Duty and "Avatar" have ever achieved the billion dollar revenue milestone this quickly. This is a tribute to the global appeal of the Call of Duty franchise, the exceptional talent at Treyarch and the hundreds of extraordinary people across our many Call of Duty studios including Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer that work tirelessly on the franchise. Our ability to provide the most compelling, immersive entertainment experience, and enhance it with regular, recurring content that delivers hundreds of hours of audience value, has allowed Call of Duty to continue to set sales and usage records."
