So I bought and downloaded CoD: Ghosts for PC the other day. By Cheesus, I don't think I've seen a bigger trainwreck of a game.

It straight up doesn't work with SLI/Crossfire systems. You have make a profile that will disable SLI/Crossfire for Ghosts otherwise the game barely runs. Anything that runs an overlay (Teamspeak. Overwolf, Steam etc.) can cause the game to chug and you have to disable the overlay. Its detection and automatic settings are poor and you have to manually set anything to get decent performance - even the size of your screen.

After all that is said and done; it still plays like crap. It was obviously designed to be played on controller - many functions are unbound on the PC when you first start!

Even when you finally get the game to work, it crashes all the time - I've owned it since Monday and I still haven't been able to beat the first actual mission because of all the crashes. Multiplayer is slightly better but still crashes often. but at least you can play a few rounds.

From what I have played; maps are better designed and could be fun. But spawning is still a complete mess. Haven't gotten enough rounds with different weapons to determine balance though.

Seriously though; how do they get away with releasing something in this poor a state? PC might no be their biggest market but if this is a consistent thing with CoD PC releases they should've been sued by now.

I never had a single crash, slowdown or graphical glitch during my 20 hours with CoD: Ghosts. I was really bad at the MP however and had my fair share of frustrating death streaks. That and the twitchy gameplay made me throw the towel in. Either I am getting old or the gameplay is getting twitchier with every installment. I remember being quite good at CoD: MW back in the day, but also distinctly recall that it wasn't so insanely fast paced nor did I feel like my character was a stranded whale when moving around.

Well, I finally got it to work a bit longer. I must say you die way too quickly; Normal feels like Hardcore from older CoDs.

One more thing: The game straight-up refuses to launch if you don't have at least 6 GB of RAM. It doesn't even let you try. You might think that's because the game actually needs that kind of system, but we know it's a complete load. People have made .exe's for the game that bypass that requirement, and the game runs fine. Why shouldn't it? The game isn't technically impressive at all. Really curious what the rationale is behind that decision.

This video explains it all:
