The farthest me and my friends have gotten is 21 or 22 I don't remember. We had a person run around collecting zombies to follow him (he had the wunderwaffe) while the rest of us camped inside a building, blocking windows. It took a while, but the hounds finally got us.

Got up to 24 with two other guys. One left at around level 17, so me and the last guy holed up in one spot and held the zombies off for quite a while.
