Online, I will constantly run and check my back every 7 or so seconds. This is just to ensure no-one with a knife is sneaking up behind me. This is a habit I want to kick because no-one uses the knife online (unless two people run into eachother)and so I get shot as soon as I turn.
My brother does, although he'll only use it against snipers and people who aren't moving anywhere.

Not CoD4 related but I used to hear that "ba-boop" noise the 360 makes when someone logs in etc >_>

Yeh, reload compulsively. I also run away whenever I hear a grenade, which actually has killed me before (I'd run into the blast-radius).
I used to do this in CS a lot so i rebound the key to mouse wheel down. My finger still stabbed the 'r' button but nothing happened. That helped me break the habit.

Iin real life I always peek around corners before i go around them but thats a combination of FPS's, Airsoft and fear of fools coming too fast around blind corners on bikes.

---

In single player games (specifically HL1) i got obsessive about quick saving. Walk forward to a corner - quick save, walk around corner - quick save etc etc. Die. Load - Quicksave.

That last one made me realise i was obsessive about it, what the hell is the point in quick loading then quick saving? By definition its pointless. Still couldn't stop doing it though.

I find myself constantly checking behind me.

Also I always have to check all the usual spots for snipers on the map, I just don't feel right if I have not checked them every couple of minutes.

i used to reload compusively but i force myself to stop. cs:s gave me the habit of always switching to my pistol with 'Q' (quickswitch) so ill often press 'Q' for no reason in other games XD

i also have to check sniper spots or i feel unsafe...and if i dont get a knife kill every couple of rounds i start running around with my knife out all the time wtf i kno :(

I am also a compulsive reloader.

I work in an office building with narrow corridors and blind corners. I was always in the habit of checking corners from FPS's, but now that habit is justified because it keeps me from being run over or spilling my tea.

Compuslive reloader, and if I can't reload I freak out and camp until I can get an easy kill and steal their gun. Don't trust pistols.

I check my corners in real life and in the game. I also happen to be a compulsive reloader for anything but the LMGs. I also need to have the 1911 in my inventory otherwise I just don't seem to do well. The only kit I use is either a MP5SD/1911 or a M16A4 silenced/1911.

On the topic of death coming with no escape, I feel compelled to mention green smoke in tribes. When ever I see it I just go limp and prepare to ragdoll on the shock wave.

whenever i kill someone i always back away from them, because 95% of the time they are using martyrdom.

Seriosly, you do know there are other perks, right?

I have the trouble with shooting from the hip. I do it all the time, just spraying and wasting ammo, usually missing the target. I use to play bf2, and I had the habit of proning and going into the sights as soon as i saw an enemy. Then I stopped playing bf2 and played CS:S. I died a LOT when i had the M4 and I tried to go into the iron sights but instead pulled out a silencer. GRR. I need to find my bf2 discs....

I just have a habit of identifying everything that moves
I also mastered some "stealth" techniques

this applies to both real life and games lol

when playing tf2 I forget that sniper bullets cannot go through material like it does in cod4.

Also I have an urge to grow british-like facial hair

I reload after every encounter, jump around corners to shoot campers in there head and never use the zooming in function unless the target is far away...this last one is the most usefull I find

This is one that hasn't been mentioned yet. It happens whenever I'm running round to flank the enemy or when I know they're coming my way and camp behind a door. I suddenly hear "enemy UAV is online". When I hear that I immediately sprint to where the majority of my teammates are. Every time :(
