Hey, just wondering if people can confirm that Codemasters's servers have been compromised? I just received an email from them stating that they have. If so what the hell is happening, why are people going after all the electronic entertainment companies.

There you go. Honestly, I've stopped caring about the whole hacking thing.

How can I assist?
So far I've seen they have an active 'facebook' page and forum.

EDIT: This looks interesting, it seems they managed to do some damage control.

Just got the e-mail as well. Atleast codemasters encrypted the passwords they kept...

Isn't this old news by now? The attack happened back towards the end of May.
This is a new attack. Apparently it happened on June 3rd, 1 week ago.

1) What? The word of Codemasters themselves isn't good enough confirmation for you?

2) Because they are complete and utter bastards. And it's all due to a certain Project beginning with M that I am unable to name.

You were right! Two hacks in a week. Codemasters must be sad.

Would you care to try? I have no idea what you're talking about. Also, I think that the OP is just worried about it being fraudulent.

This was my first thought. Anything from game companies goes thru my, is this a scam email, filter. Thats why i was asking if people can confirm about the attacks. Which i guess has been done.

Then I guess I was starting a discussion on why people would go after companies like this. It seems a trend at the moment to go after the entertainment companies that have an online presence. Maybe people are annoyed at companies making things easily avaliable online so drm crackers have nothing to do. I dont know, im not in those circles. Just makes me think from Extra Credits in their vid about anon that going after sony is most likely not for teh lulz and in fact would reduce the overall fun for many members (of which i know some and no they wouldnt condone such an action).

I got an email from them this morning about it. I'm not too worried about it as the only reason I have an account with them was for Autoassault. If they have my info it's all expired. If I wasn't getting paid to play that game I never would have bothered. Even then I didn't bother past the initial 30 days.

Yeah, my sister got an e-mail too (wonder why I didn't, maybe because I already transferred my LotRO account over to Turbine).

What I would like to know is what Codemasters has done to merit this. They've got a pretty clean record, they're small fry compared to Sony so... why?
