I just had a very interesting experience. I was on TVTropes (of course) looking through some tabs I've had open for a while. One of them is the "Hell Is That Noise" page for Video Games, and one of the links was to the battle theme for the Twilight Realm in LoZ: TP. One of the commenters referenced another comment, so I looked for it, and while looking, I saw a comment from fairly popular LPer darkmindedsith, a friend of one of my favorites, durden77. Pretty interesting. But even more interesting was that I couldn't find the comment I was looking for so I went to the user's profile. It turned out they had recently commented on a part of NintendoCapriSun's LP (yeah, I watch a lot of 'em) of FFX, which I had just seen last night. Talk about degrees of separation.

So anyway, what are some of your experiences, IRL or online, that have made you think "Damn, it IS a small world?", or something to that effect?

This happened to me yesterday, I was watching Saving Private Ryan and decided o look something up about it, only to find the aforementioned Ryan was actually in the same division as the men from Easy Company (Band of Brothers) and was apparently good friends with two of the characters featured in the series.

Its pretty coincidental, but because they are both made by the same people (Spielberg and Hanks) it could have been an intentional link, regardless I thought it was pretty amazing.

My parents recently watched the movie Garden State. The girl I'm talking to just met the girl that Natalie Portman's character is based on. Like, a face to face meeting. Its crazy.

One time a long time ago, while I was playing vanilla-WoW, I noticed a hunter asking in the general chat how to tame beasts. As kind as I was (not am), I told him. He was much appreciative since he had been asking for a long time without success. He asked me where I was from. "Norway". He was a Norwegian as well. And he was from the city as I was. He asked my age. "13". "Me too!"

Turned out it was my one of the boys in my class I hardly spoke to.

Back in the days when I used to frequent Gaia Online, I saw a thread based around tattoos. Tattoos are something which intrigue me, so I decided to have a look at what other people had posted. Someone posts a picture of my friend's back, something which is highly distinguishable given that it's covered in very unique tattoos. I sent her a message about it, asking if she knew the person who had the aforementioned tattoos. She confirmed that she did, and asked how I knew him - turns out that we'd never personally met, but we had a mutual friend. XD

It's a small world after all~

I bumped into several people at uni today who I barely know, yet have met at some point due to society things or the upcoming student elections. I also have randomly bumped into one girl, twice this week, who I've been involved in shooting a theatrical trailer with. And a few weeks ago I happened to bump into a colleague of mine while out in the city centre (a fairly big city, by the way). Not much in the way of coincidence, but still, it's there (sort of)...
