They have linear levels which are large enough to offer a huge number of ways to complete them. Each level will just end at a certain point which you have to go through.

Wouldn't that mean the levels are non-linear? :p

Or are we talking linear as in the order of the missions?

Now that i think about it (and read some articles), it shouldnt be too hard to do. Oblivian and Marrowind did this already. Well, point being it has been done already and pulling it off for Crytek shouldn't be diffcult i would be more worried about the Gfx lol.
The way that Crysis ended with the whole island blowing up, i don't think u will start off at the island again
