All right, my fellow Escapists, it is long overdue for us to look back on life, I think.

My question to you is this, What from your past brings up the best memories for you, and what has this caused you to do recently?

For instance, I just purchased the Commander Keen complete pack off of Steam, because they were the first games I played. Used to play them on an IBM PS/2 shoved in the corner of my tiny room.

How about you?

About annually, I dig out my Crash Bandicoot games, from the first one to Crash Team Racing.
And beat 'em all over again. Keeps my inner-seven year old happy.

I've been avidly listening to the Medievil soundtrack lately. It's actually very good, particularly the re-orchestrated versions done for the remake, Medievil Resurrection.

The only thing that ever made me feel even slightly nostalgic was re-watching an episode of the first season of the Pokemon cartoon with my little brother. And even that was just a teeny tiny pang.

No, I don't do the whole nostalgia thing so much.

I started playing Ocarina of Time again today. First time in quite some years now. It's still as awesome as i remember it... even though it starts out a bit slow

Just watched "Neverending Story" movie with friends. It made me depressed to remember being a kid (fun times). This was made worse when I watched some movies/shows on DVD from cartoon network (Adult Swim/Toonami) like Gundam Wing, Gundam 8th MS Team, Evangelion(best fricken anime of all time!).

My boyfriend has ALL of his Ps1,Game Cube, and original x-box games so he has "nostalgia play weeks" every year or so (his older consols are fully functioning of course). So he plays Tales of Symphonia, FF7, Baton Kaitose (spelling?), Sukodian, Paper Mario, Doom 3, and whole bunch of other games

I had an extensive discussion of the Halo series with a friend the other day. Halo 1 was pretty much the first game I ever seriously played, and it brought back a ton of memories.

I'm conquering Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask. Then as soon as i can find it i'm getting Conker's Bad Fur Day and reliving those moments of awesome and glory.

Agreed. The JRPG syndrome strikes again. But, to be honest, that was the only bad part of the game.

I'm one of those sad nerds who wakes up every day wishing I was still a kid in the early 90s.

Fixed that for ya. What I wouldn't give to jump back to my childhood for a day. :l

Medievil was one of the best games ever. I actually feel like ripping it off my cd and playing it on my emulator now. For me it's Omega Boost and Kula World. Two absolutely brilliant games.

That's not sad... I think everyone misses the 90s (especially the near/post-cold war generation born between 1985-1990)

Bought it off of PSN yesterday, and I was blown away. How I missed out on that gem the first time, I'll never know.

Back in the days when we had energy, didn't have to worry about jobs or bills or taxes, when you liked every song & the radio, when you went to the theaters at least once a month, when your friends were more dependable, when cartoons had a spine & a set of balls, & when we only had 100 channels & there was always something on.
