Watchmen, V for Vendetta; ah, that's the extent of my comic knowledge. Both are smashing pieces of literature and the art is expedient too.

What kind of comics are you interested in? Superhero, supernatural, drama?

I'd say Preacher is a good one. Walking dead too.

The only one that come into my mind is DC Kingdom Come (I love the artstyle. It had that olden realistic look to it).

I've just started reading X-Force. The story's really good (an X-Men black ops team lead by Wolverine) and the art's amazing :)

Watchmen is incredible in both those areas. Y: The Last Man is good, if you can handle willing suspension of disbelief (it's about a plague that wipes out every Y-chromosome on Earth except one man and one monkey). I don't own Scott Pilgrim, but I've heard it's pretty good.

sounds good, which year, month should I get issues from?
Well if you want to get X-Force I'd just get the first volume or two of the graphic novel. It was rebooted last year so it should be easy to find.

Just so you know the cover of the first volume looks like this;

Hope that helps :)

Marvano, Haldeman / The Forever war. Decent art. Veeeeeeeeery good story.
Warren Ellis / Supergod. Decent art. Nice story, thought ending is fuc*ed up.
McKean, Morrison / Arkham Asylum. I'm not sure about story, but art is interesting.
Takayuki Yamaguchi / Shigurui. Good study of human body. Warning : gore content.
Hiroaki Samura / Blade of the Immortal (Mugen no Jūnin). Unique perspective. Ditto.
Shrapnel, Glimmerrats or something like this - CGI in service of comic art.

You should also read Batman: The Killing Joke. It's a one-shot series and it's one of the most influential and important Batman stories.
