While I agree on the nudity (and the contemporary swearing... I mean honestly... it's jarring), it really doesn't add anything to the narrative, the bath rub scene was actually very interesting to me, it added some much needed information to someone who hasn't read the books. I was debating if the Dragon were actually something that existed or a myth, and the eggs and blades, etc, were all other objects just given that name to increase the value, now thanks to that scene we were told point blank, yes they did exist. And beyond that it established Blond-Whiny-Git's family actually ruled for a fairly long time.
Perhaps I'm accidentally mixing knowledge of the books with what we've seen in the series, but I could of sworn someone had already mentioned that all the dragons died off and that the last ones were small and sickly. The only real new information was that these dragon skulls used to be kept in the throne room and Doreah hints a few "easter eggs" for fans.

I'll have to rewatch them at some point.

Did anyone else Squeal like a little girl when Doreah mentioned Dragonglass daggers and a face-changing man? ^^ Or the name drop of Thoros Of Myr?
...uh...me :p

Especially the face changing man part. So badass. And hopefully there'll be the melee next episode:

...flaming sword FOR THE WIN!

Bwhahahaha Gendry is CHRIS!!! *falls over with early Skins adoration*

On a more serious note, I'm surprised no one mentioned the long awaited shot that showed the vastness of the Khalasar, the cgi massive length extension seemed as clever a trick as any, short of hiring a hundred thousand extras. I've got to say though... some of the events waiting down the line over the next few seasons, have be cringing.... The Red Wedding, the whole affair with a certain ironclad maid and her stuttering squire, at least the way it seems to have ended as of A Feast for Crows....

So far this series is fantastic, with actors being cast almost with exactly what was in my head.

With the exception of Cat, who is older in the TV series than I envisioned and Tyrion (who rubbed me up the wrong way in the books) who I actually like now with such a great actor slotting into the role nicely. Same with Littlefinger, didn't care for him much but he's evolved into something on the screen.

Interesting casting choice with Gendry, the actor is the same as from the UK Skins - and I may be a bit unfair judging him on thirty seconds, but seems he's playing Chris again. Answers why I haven't seen him around since Skins.

On a side note:

What is it with Benn and getting cast into roles that get killed off far too prematurely for his talents? He is a fantastic Ned though, of course

nope, that's all new stuff.

the only info on dragons we've had beforehand was doreah's story about the moon being an egg and the dothraki saying it's a silly legend and that dragons were killed off years ago.

I've been meaning to pick up the books and knock them out. So far I like the show a lot but some of by buddies can't seem to upgrade to it from "Camelot".

I really enjoyed this episode, especially all of the Littlefinger scenes, but I hope that's not the end of the Hand's Tourney. The books had a lot of interplay between Sansa and Loras Tyrell that comes into play later, and a scene that would show off just how monstrous and dangerous the Mountain That Rides really is. While on the topic of Loras, has any one else been missing Renly? I know he was introduced, but hasn't really shown up again. I suppose that's because there has only been two very short chances to see the small council meeting.

Renly was standing, a few rows back, and there really wasn't much on him in the book, other than he was a very metrosexual man, always dressing up like the good city-folk he is :p. And pretty sure from the trailers, there is a part deux to the Hand's Tourney with the scene betwen S and L you are talking about.
