The scene with the Dothraki, Khal Drogo, and Daenerys continue to depress me. But, one again, Mr. Dinklage--and recently--Mr. Harington more than made up for it. Also, I'm not really feeling "Ned" Stark in this show. The euphoria of the series is fading in me, and now I'm starting to notice so many things that could've been done so much better.

Was Yoren at all amusing in the book?

My biggest problem with the series (and it's MY problem) is that i don't know how i'm going to see the characters when i read the 5th book. I read LOTR after the movies came out, so when I think of Aragorn, i picture Viggo.

I know this is the peril of any adapted work. I want to keep my imagined characters. My personally constructed faces.

you know, i'm really scared of that happening as well. I had this really vivid image of all the characters in my head, all their little mannerisms and stuff, and i don't want it replaced by the people from the show. Varys for instance, did not appear at all how i imagined him. I don't want the spider from the show any where near my imagination when i'm reading the books.
And one really really minor thing that has been bugging me is that Bran is supposed to be seven, not ten. its something really silly to be annoyed with i know, but there it is xD

page 2, second paragraph, last sentence should read
Ned sends her away under secrecy because it is too dangerous, not even allowing her to see her daughters.
Thanks for running this, the show is great but understanding it better with knowledge from the book rocks :D

EDIT: also, last page:
Though Joreh is quick to depart upon learning that Daenerys is with child, I remember this being played far subtlety in the book, but maybe it's just because A Storm of Swords is still relatively fresh in my mind.
More subtly? With far more subtlety?

Someone needs to give the proof-reading hamster a shot of Mountain Dew ;)

Actually, Varys was exactly like how i imagined. Bald, chubby, and little effeminate. And Little Finger is spot on. But I never pictured the hound with Hair or a beard. His description might have been mentioned, but it always seemed to focus on the burn scar.

My problem with varys is that he doesn't seem sneaky enough. And i never imagined him as a little fat man.
I definitely agree with you on the Hound. He doesn't feel right to me. The hound is supposed to be terrifying and full of anger, yet he seems almost jovial. And i don't think they got his scars right. they don't seem prominent enough.

1 mistake: Aerys was planning to have his Alchemists/Pyromancers (more specifically, his last Hand, Lord Rossart) burn King's Landing. It's a different organisation from the Maesters.

Agreed, being the master of disguise and all, oh well.

From the sneak-peeks, neither is Bronn too (> . >) the way I imagined him to be. He was more dirty and han-solo roguish in my head. Oh well.

That's not at all what I pictured King's Landing to look like. In fact, most things aren't how I imagined them. Ah well, I don't have trouble keeping my old imagined versions of things as I read. I loved the scene with Jon on top of the Wall; they did a great job with making it look incredibly cold.

Oh, and it's "Night's Watch".

I was a lil let down by king's landing. I always imagined it as the rat infested, early london kind of town. It felt dang near tropical in the last show. oh and yeah the raven missing kinda niffed me as well. Ahh well still a good show.

Nothing about Syrio Forel??? He didn't look like the way he was described in the book, or how I imagined him, but I thought he was great. He was maybe a little less serious and more jovial, but he just really brought the character to life. Arya's first "dancing lesson" was easily my favorite part of this episode.

One of the few series I actually legitimately look forward to each week now.

I was not expecting Danearyis to actually start to like the Dothraki guy. But it's refreshing, to say the least

Bronn? We've seen Bronn? That shouldn't be until next week (if my timing is correct) Or was he in some sort of trailer?

Trailer/Sneak-peak videos that you can find at the HBO site.

This.

There are a few areas where you're not 100% on name spellings. It's Jorah and Thorne.

I missed the giant at the end of the world speech my the maester at castle black and also Jon pissing off thorne with his i would love to see ghost juggle speech which becomes quite important when slynarrives at the wall. Also strange we havent seen Jons direworlf at all, in fact most of them seem to be showing up less than they where written to. Really liked the syrio bits though just so indeed
