completely unexpected shocking moment

So yesterday i was sitting at my computer setting people on fire on tf2 (the most satisying kill minus plugging a sniper with a ambassador)when my uncle walks in and just says that hes going to start collecting warhammer 40k models and start painting aswel and that he wants me to go to cardiff with him on the weekend to pick up a army.

now to understand how shocking this is , my uncle is 23 and is semi chavvy and a few years ago used to call warhammer nerdy shit and thought it was idiotic when i first started, guess getting your own house and getting engaged changes a person well anyway have any of you had a moment when someone you know has just walked up to you and said something unexpected and shocking?

BUT one of my friends, he's eighteen, told me he was engaged. I didn't know what to say (except, "I'm sorry," but I didn't).

One of my mates said he was planning on asking the girl when he was seventeen. A year later it still hasn't happened but I'm expecting it to happen sooner rather than later.

This was when I was just out of high school, and hadn't dated a whole lot by then. I totally called her back...
