Completley missing the point

are there any works out there where you find people kind of miss the point?

here are some examples

Farenheit 451- a somewhat famous book about people who burn books, some people seem to think its about government censorship (probably those who havnet read it) its more about society dumbing down and refusing to think and being a slave to mass media (more or less please excuse my bad explaining) funny thing is thats more relevant today

Born in the USA- at first you could mistake it for a patriotic rock anthem but the lyrics are anything but patriotic

Starship troopers- at first it just seems like an over the top cliched silly action flick (which it is and a good one at that) but if you watch it a second time you can tell its over the top on purpose and satirical

I believe there was a whole Cracked article which went over a few books that people completely misunderstood...

I find that people miss the point in most things in life and don't take the time to examine them properly, as was most likely the case with 'Born in the USA', etc.

I am still unsure about starship troopers. While I did think it was a satirical dig on army recruitment, treatment of soldiers and foreign policy, it is so over the top, I don't know if any satire can be built that high!

Its also kind of like Team america satirical but also insanley over the top (I imagine there are poeple that took it completley at face value)
