Recently my laptop has been showing box's saying "(name of the programme I'm trying to open) - bad image" when I come to selecting users It says logon-bad image I click okay and the programme works perfectly fine. The message goes:
C:\PROGRA~1\google\GOOGLE~3\GOEC62~1.DLL is either not designed to run on windows or it contains an error. Try installing the programme again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support.
any ideas how to fix it?

This is the best answer I could find. Seems to be some sort of malware, or faulty registry entry from a google product.

Press the Windows key + R to open a Run box.

Type regedit

Go to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows

In the right-hand pane, look at the AppInit_DLLs value.

Double-click on it.

Delete the C:\PROGRA~1\Google\GOOGLE~2\GOEC62~1.DLL part only.
I wish I could do better, but I've never seen this problem.
