So, sometimes when I turn on my computer it crashes or freezes up suddenly, forcing me to restart it, usually I have to do this a few times before the computer works and from there the computer works like normal. Sometimes there's a BSOD with messages like "IRQL not less or more" or "Fault in non paged area." Any ideas?

"IRQL not less or more" or "Fault in non paged area." is normally a bad driver but it could be duff memory.

Try http://download.cnet.com/BlueScreenView/3000-2094_4-10965136.html

Sounds useful, but it doesn't look like my computer's keeping the crash files, they don't seem to be in the minidump folder.

Go to control panel->system->advanced system settings-> startup and recovery and from the write debugging drop down select small memory dump.
