I've tried it. It doesn't work.

I've actually received this one before and I have no clue what it means.
Any ideas?

I've had that as well. Maybe it hasn't started the error-checking software. So it knows something's wrong, but not what it is?

I have this freeware game called Crossfire. Despite the fact that I haven't done anything, whenever I try to play, a message appears saying I'm hacking and aborts the game. Brilliant!

I would get a screenshot, but I've already uninstalled it :(

"X application has performed an illegal action and needs to shut down"

Has it shot someone?
Is it selling drugs?

If not it's really illegal now is it?
I get scared when my computer tells me that... I knew I shouldn't have downloaded all those pictures of children playing in the bath... THE PARANOIA.

" has encountered an unexpected error and will now close."

Thanks a lot... Care to be a little more specific? Maybe, just maybe I might be able to fix it.

"Printer on Fire"
It's from Unix. The proper message is "lp0 on fire" (lp0 is the Unix device handle for the first line printer.)

"Error: The Operation Completed Successfully"

"Not a Typewriter" (did I say it was?)
