I am going to get a new gaming computer. That got me thinking of all the games i never got to play becuase I never had a computer powerfull enough to run them. Then I thought about silent hill 2, and how maybe people consider it the best game in the series. I was wondering, can silent hill 2 be made to be compatable with windows 7?

Pretty much any game can work if you adjust compatibility settings. Check what system the game requires (on the box), and then set your compatibility for that. If it still doesn't work, see if you can find a patch (official or unofficial).

I had to get a patch for Far Cry 1 because it hated Vista, but once I got it, everything was fine.

If you have Windows 7 Pro Edition you can run programs in XP compatibility mode unless I'm mistaken.

Actually "XP mode" is for Pro, Enterprise and Ultimate and is a hell of a lot better than any "compatibility mode". It is actually a full, registered version of XP which runs in a virtual PC in tandem with Windows 7. Complete, 100% compatibility.

Oh, it will be awesome. You're essentially getting a full, free version of Windows XP SP3. Well worth the extra €65.
