Something tells me I've found the *****, It seems to be this Vodafone (sp?) thing that decides to update itself and whe it can't find updates it commits computercide...atleast that's what it seems to be because is the reocrd time for running thus far and I killed the program before it started the update search.

Edit: Don't ask how or why but it seems to be working, I could start having fun with this everytime I startup it's a game of "Whack-a error"

Vodafone is a service provider isn't it? Didnt know it had any software. This might actually be a spyware or adware. Possibly trojan ( what with all the 'updating' ).
Go download avast! spybot S&D. And run them.
Specifically avast's boot scan.

If you had a restore point it wouldnt have deleted all your data. Some maybe but not all.
Also you dont have to play whack a error ( grammar 'an' =P )
Go to start ---> Search " msconfig " ----> click on 'msconfig.exe '---> go to the boot tab and search for this program---> Then from there simply disable it so it isnt allowed to start up when your system boots.

It's some program that allows him to make mobile calls without a proper connection. I probably should disable it and let him deal with it when he needs to go on buisness trips /evil smirk

On a tangenital note, I guess it's very hard to get the PC manufacturer to abide by their standard warranty as they can always wriggle out of it by saying it was a software error or virus that caused the problem. Don't know if anyone here has ever claimed on a warranty and actually succeeded when the case isn't obviously a manufacturing fault.

Lol, ok well i highly suggest uninstalling, then reinstalling. If it still crashes you after that then you should probably tell your dad to call up vodafone. ( you dont want him blaming you for anything more now do you =) )
