I have an hp dv 9925 nr Laptop and i recently upgraded to windows 7. The vista audio drivers don;t work for the built in microphone so i tried these custom drivers from someone on the internet http://forum.notebookreview.com/showpost.php?p=5232721&postcount=3 they work except that the computer no longer registers when i put headphones in and leaves the speakers on while also playing through the headphones. If anyone has any insights in how to fix this please help me.

I dont have a windows pc... but i assume you could manually turn off the speakers in the device manager? This, however, is a complete faff

yes but it thinks the headphones are the same device as the speakers and turns them off as well
