Computer issues, somebody help please!

I'm honestly not sure what's wrong with my computer right now. I've tried a lot of different things and nothing has worked. I'm getting some serious frame rate/stuttering issues when playing games. Almost a week ago I was able to run Crysis 2 on ultra settings with no issue. Constant 50-60 fps and around 30-45 fps when running FRAPS. However after playing New Vegas for a few days, I noticed that when I went to use the V.A.T system it would take an unreal amount of time to go through, and it'd lag pretty hard. Ever since then I've been having issues with every single game I've played. Lag, frame rate issues, I can't play Crysis 2 or the Witcher 2 anymore for that matter. A game I just bought.

If anybody can offer help, please give me some advice. I've done a memory test to check my ram, I've installed the newest drivers for my video card, and I've made sure that my DirectX is up to date. I've even tried to change out my video cards, but it's still giving me the same issue.

My system:
Processor: Intel i7 960 3.20GHz
Ram: 6gig Corsair
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Video Cards: GTX 275x2 (SLI)
DirectX 11

have you tried re booting it (I,m not joking here) it helps with allot of problems.
Have you also tried removing the dust? it could be a over heating problem.

Yeah, I've rebooted the computer multiple times now. I've also cleaned the cards, the mobo, everything I can think of. I honestly don't know what's wrong with it. I've even went so far as to drop SLI, and try each card by itself. They both give me the same issue.

did you update your video driver latley the new video driver might of improved fps in crysis 2 but might not be good for new vegas some times newer driver done always mean better.

Yeah. I have the newest drivers, and I wouldn't mind it at all if New Vegas was the only game screwing up. However it's with all of my games. I'm getting visible frame rate/stuttering when playing any game. Guild Wars, Crysis 2, The Witcher 2. I guess I should also mention that I get some serious frame rate issues when I try to watch a movie fullscreen as well when on the web.

yeah that sounds like your video driver didn't install properly, try reinstalling it and if that doesn't work try rolling back to a older driver just to rule out video drivers. also check for heating issues as that also could be the cause your describing.

Alright. I'll try to do that. Once that is finished I'll report back with an update. I appreciate the advice.

No different sadly. Still getting terrible frame rate in any game I try to load up, and any fullscreen video I try to watch over the web.

Assuming your PCIe controller isn't stuffed, it sounds like a processor issue. Check it's not running at a very low clock (CPU-Z) and that your processor isn't running stupidly hot (Core Temp)

then stress test your cpu and graphics card and look at the results.
Normally i find if you stress test your computer when there's heating issues it will shutdown your computer.

I'm actually thinking it's the PSU issue. I've disabled SLI, tried out both cards on their own and I'm still having the same issue. As for the processor it's running at it's normal speed and barely taking on any load while running. It's pretty normal in comparison to what it's always been. I doubt it's over heating because of the liquid cooling system dedicated to it. However I'm going to check out the Realtemp program and see what happens.

Disk Check, Disk Cleanup, Defrag, update drivers. All of these can help with performance issues.

EDIT: Also have you overclocked anything? That could be causing a bit of instability.
