I recently upgraded my computer from an Amd phenom II 720 to a 955.
Since i was stuck with my old rams 1066 i desided to buy some new DDR3 memories.
Normal i'm very good with computers but i can't seem to find a straight answer online.
my question.

for my Gaming system: is it better to have 4 or 8 gigs of ram (does it make a big difference)
and should i go with 1333 and low timings like 6/6/6 or higher memories 1600 and worse timings ?

Thanks in advance :)

Anything more than 4GB for gaming is a waste.

Also the difference between 1333 and 1600 Mhz is negligible.

I would say that at the moment 4GB is all you need however having 8GB is far more future-proof. But just remember that they will always release more "better" RAM, so unless you want to be stuck with 8GB of RAM that isn't the very best then just get 4GB and upgrade in future when you feel you are outdated.
