computer starts up no image

SO THERE was a big storm and my computer froze. i shut it down and turned the power off. now after the storm i turn the computer on and it does everything like normal except no signal on the screen and the keyboard doesnt appear to light up (back lit keys).

any suggestions? do you think my video card is fried.

It wouldn't be your video card if your keyboard doesn't work also, sounds more like a case of the Motherboard getting fried. Easiest way to check is grab another monitor, see if it shows up. If not, your motherboard's dead.

Could also be the RAM. Sounds very much like what happens when you try booting without ram.

True but normally when there's no RAM the computer will start beeping at you, since he hasn't mentioned this, I vote motherboard because if it IS, it'd be stopping it from reading the RAM anyway and if it was, wouldn't be beeping cause it broken.

A CONUNDRUM!

True, though my PC didn't do anything when I forgot to put in my ram once... was very confusing :p
